I've been using the Smokeware cap for 2 years or so & never had issues controlling temps. (or maybe I wasn't paying attention to the fluctuations)

If you like the daisy wheel, Just make sure you align the cap's screw with the center of the dome thermometer. if you do that, it won't move when you open the dome.
