I buy a lot of gadgets. They all promise ease of use and fantastic results, and I usually regret said purchases. Pantelligent is pretty solid: https://www.pantelligent.com/. Paired with a WeMo wifi outlet adapter and recommended hot plate, it will regulate temp and allow your phone to cook a pretty great steak for you with minimal effort. Truthfully, I can do better solo, but this eliminates all guesswork for any non-cooks. What I use it for is vegetables, salmon, & sides. It's very nice to have something on auto pilot that will cook perfectly on it's own while you focus on the rest of the meal. Only gripe is the app is lacking a lot of recipes.

Beverages - Is there really anything other than Guinness? Oh yeah, I forgot about tequila!
I'd be hesitant forking over that much money for a disposable pan. Anything nonstick is going to eventually start breaking down and flaking off.

CandySueQ, I have not tried the Scanpans, but when ceramic first came out the reviews on the nonstick properties that I read were not very good. I'm sure they have improved since then. How is the nonstick surface compared to teflon type nonstick?

I saw a video on this. The reviewer said it did put out a good product but that he had never had to work so hard to get a pan fried steak lol. It was always either a little to high or to low so he was constantly having to adjust his flame. said he couldn't even imagine trying it on a electric with how slow they respond to heat adjustment.

Dr ROK I agree. I use cast iron almost exclusively. But I get to write it off for work, and I do love my gadgets. Not sure how true it is, but they claim that the non stick coating will last longer because you won't be overheating the pan as much.
@GadgetGriller I only used it a few times on my stove. While I did have to play with the temp to keep it in the sweet spot, it wasn't as hard as your reviewer implied. The autopilot feature is the way to go though. With a wifi enabled outlet and a hot plate, all you do is plug in and follow your phone's instructions. It's nice for sides. They literally cook themselves while I focus on the rest of the meal.
What appealed to me was the idea of temperature control on my stovetop. For all the money I've spent on thermometers, fans, and other grill/smoker accessories to regulate temperature, I still was using Low Med High on my stove. It's not for everyone, but it does what it claims. I am not confident when it comes to cooking fish and vegetables the way I am with meat. Using this gadget is demystifying cooking some of the dishes I would normally avoid. If nothing else, it taught me that I can be running my stove at much lower temps than I realized and still achieve great results.
