    Speaking of Essential Cookware

I'm in the market for a decent set of stainless steel mixing bowls. I had Kirklands for many years, but left them with my former wife (she let me keep all of my cookers so it was a pretty good trade). I've looked on Amazon and there's too many options to ferret out. Nothing sooper expensive, they're just bowls, but something well made. Let me know what all a y'all like. Thanks.

I have OXO brand bowls, received a set of 3 for Christmas one year. The one thing I like about them is they have a rubberized bottom which helps with slippage. But I find myself using a set of Pyrex bowls more since they have a lid.

I also have a set of 3 SS bowls with a silicon rubberized coating on the bottoms and love them. I think I bought them at Costco several years ago. They are in my vacation home so I can't check the brand right now.

OXO is a great choice for a lot of kitchenware.

Rubber bottoms for keeping them stabile on counter or, more maneuverable?

The lids fit really well, I never worry about them sloshing when wheeling one on my lap. They nest really well for storage.

Sold Richard Chrz Amazon has them a little less expensive and shipping included. I got mine in red, pretty snazzy looking.

CaptainMike - I bought a set of those Viking bowls in blue. Really like them.

CaptainMike I have all hand me downs. But for some solid workhorses, git over to a restaurant supply store.

I was thinking Webstaurant. I'll check them out. The local restaurant supply here in Alturas is pretty sketchy. However, Reno is only a couple of hours away. Reno is equally sketchy but better selections.

We have 3 ss bowls from our local hardware store. They all match and have flat bottoms. They're nothing special but I really like them.

No matter what you buy you'll never wear them out, I would stay budget minded on a set.

I’ve really liked this set of bowls. But I really don’t think I paid what this is listed at. I’ve had these for years, but I like they have lids and the rubber bottom. Perhaps you can find something similar, or these at a Pampered Chef gathering! That’s where I bought them years ago!

I have mostly Walmart specials that look an awful lot like the food bowls we buy for the dogs at the clinic. They have held up for 20 years though.

No, I personally don't like the rubber bottoms.

Ha, ha. I tried to bring in an old dog bowl to use in the kitchen. It was just the right size. Wife asked me where this bowl came from when she was washing it. I told her that it was Maggie's old water bowl. I found it outside in the garage the next morning. I got the message....

TripleB I had the 4 year old granddaughter give me the side eye when I gave her Mac n cheese or something in a ceramic bowl she had seen the little Yorkie eating from previously. We have a stack of those small bowls, and keep them in the cabinets - just so happened the little dog sometimes gets her food in a "people bowl" instead of the big metal bowls our bigger dogs used... Once it goes through the dishwasher I don't think it matters much...

I buy the cheap ones. Stainless steel lasts forever.
