    ThermoWorks cable maintenance.

Found something useful again for my 3D printer. Now I can organize my cables a little better. There are some imaginative people creating all sorts of useful things out there.
Finally though. I was placing them in plastic baggies...

    That is very cool!

I keep wanting a 3D printer, but then realize I don't have time to keep up with everything I already have, and it would be another big time suck for me. My wife also thinks they are cool, and would likely task me with all sorts of crazy things as well....

The other problem is if I bought one, I would want something that can handle advanced materials like PC and such, and then I would be in the same situation as I am with pizza ovens. I started looking at pizza ovens thinking I would be fine with some $300-something Ooni, and now the ones I want are $800-1000, so I am just not getting anything...

Sometimes it's easier to resist a temptation by the time it grows out of proportion to the need. That's where I am with a Searwood. "Should I or shouldn't I" pinballs through my brain when MCS comes calling. I feel your pain.

Same. I find things I that it would be useful for but then don't have time for the learning curve and would want a more top end version than most of the people I know have.

My kids mostly ask me for articulated toys they want. My wife asked for a spice holder. I know what you mean.

Wow. Nice job. I like the way the probe clip is stored in the same gizmo, and I especially like the way the probe is sheltered.

I always wash my food probes again just before using because the storage box I keep them in has lots of other things in it as well, like the fire starters, parts for ATC, etc. whose surfaces are not particularly clean. Shielding the food probes from touching other things while in storage is a nice idea.

I have 7-8 of those Thermoworks silicone spools, but yours does a much nicer job of holding the probe. And I have somehow lost several of those grate clips over the past couple of years. You would think they would be in the shoebox sized storage box I keep the thermometers and probes in, or clipped to a grill cooking grate, but who knows WHERE they went!

A 3D printer has been on my list for quite a number of years. I have a good friend in the neighborhood who's been doing 3D printing for years now, and has made some amazing things.

He even printed me some replacement parts for an old pinball machine, because I couldn't find any original parts.

My biggest challenge is finding room for it, at this point. Well, that and having three college age kids, constantly draining my wallet...

I used to do something like that as well.

Yeah. I have to lock mine up in a plastic storage bin with a code on it. I adopted a child with reactive attachment disorder. It’s too dangerous to leave mine out in the open.

Mine get thrown back into the smoker or grill where they were used…for the next time. 😁

My brother made me a few similar to that on his 3d printer, but I have just always coiled mine up and slide them in can coozies for storage. Especially my FireBoard pro probes.

Great idea. I also put 1 or 2 koosies on my outdoor faucets then cover them with the regular outdoor covers for the winter months.

By the way, I pulled them out a bit so you can see it, mine are completely coiled up and not sticking out when stored.
