    Curved/Angled Smokestack Extension

Hoping someone can help an inept searcher out. A year or more ago, there was a discussion here about a company that made curved or angled extensions for smokestacks. I’ve tried to find it, to no avail. We’re going to be getting our house painted and it has been suggested that I might want to look into doing so the exhaust smoke from my Yoder YS 640 no longer discolors the lanai ceiling. Does anyone recall the thread I’m talking about or own one of these gizmos?
    TIA

I don't have a picture of it, but when I had my 640 I used 1 6ft aluminum dryer vent hose. I would move the 640 to the edge of the covered patio and then place the aluminum vent over the smokestack. Bent it to a 90 and then about 3ft out another 90 turning up. This worked well on days it was raining and I wanted to keep the pellet hopper end from getting wet and not have the smoke under that patio cover. You want the ones that are rigid but flexible to bend. Run about $14 at Lowes for an 8ft one.

You would think that an extension would create back pressure. Looks like jlazar doesn't have any issues.

I think it is because you have about a 4 inch opening fitting over a smaller stack. There is a gap at the bottom of the stack where it fits. It is definitely not a tight fit. The bend and weight of the vent pipe hold it in place. No fasteners used.

You could probably just go with a single bend and have a longer extension going up at an angle. I went with two bends so any rain coming down would collect in the last bend and not go back down to the smokestack.

No, you can run a much longer exhaust/smokestack than people realize without causing issues.

I just looked it up. That’s what I was thinking of. Thanks Jerod.

I just set up a floor fan similar to this:

… which works great at moving smoke away from wherever I don’t want it to be.

I use much the same. I bought a fan on a stand at Harbor Freight.
