Need new double wall combo oven and microwave

We are looking for a new combination wall oven. We had hoped to get a few more years out of our current Dacor oven and microwave but the oven door springs are bad, the top broiler element doesn’t work and the microwave doesn’t power on. It is so old most repair parts are no longer available, even though the microwave may just need a fuse. I have replaced them many times.

It spite of that, the replacement my wife likes is another Dacor, though this model combines the oven and microwave in one unit where our current one is two separate units with a trim kit to give it a combo look.

An issue with our cabinet opening is it is too small for some of the options we considered including Bosch. The Décor is too small for the opening and I am asking our cabinet builder if he can build a 5-inch platform to fill the space and if he can include a small storage drawer. I thought that would be perfect for cookie sheets, pizza pans, and other thin or flat kitchen items.

Any experience with newer Décor ovens and microwaves? Other options that we can fit and should consider? It must be electric; we don’t have gas.

New ovens have changed a LOT

Any other new fangled oven/microwave owners and how are you using all the new features?

We just had a Décor 30-inch combi wall oven delivered. Of course, it required adding a 5 inch shelf to get it to fit our existing cabinet space. The most expensive storage space we have put in due to our cabinet makers’ charges. A door is being fabricated.

The features are overwhelming. My wife and I may need to take a class as it is all new to us. At least we can just use the same basic features we used on our old oven but some of this new stuff could come in handy.
