Last night I tried to start-up the Weber rotisserie for my Genesis but it will no longer turn the rod with the spit fork. I can hear a faint murmur from the motor but it doesn't turn. I sprayed the opening where the rod is inserted with WD40 to no avail.
I've only had the rotisserie for around 6 months & I've used it 4 or 5 times. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I will contact Weber later today or tomorrow.

For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.

I'll second what RonB said. Weber customer service helped me with a problem a few months ago and they were excellent to deal with and they did what they said they would do - no follow up required.

Never had that particular issue...but will echo what RonB and fuzzydaddy have said... Give 'em a call. Their CS is top notch. Heck, even emails sent to them are answered in a timely manner.
I had a question a while back regarding my 10+ year old (read: no longer made) Summit Platinum grill. They not only answered my question quickly, and to my satisfaction, but anticipated a follow-up question. LOL
This problem sounds vaguely familiar. The first month I owned my Weber and before I religiously used my cover, I stored my motor under the grill. Like an idiot, I let it get wet, but I thoroughly dried it out before attempting to use it. Then, the problem you describe happened.
If I recall, I took the cover off and forced the mechanism inside to rotate. After that, it has worked fine ever since. And I now store it in a plastic container in a safe place.
JimmieOhio thanks for your feedback. I always stored the motor inside my house but now that I think about it... I believe it was raining when I last used it. It worked throughout the cook but maybe that is the cause of the problem that I'm now experiencing. I've been busy this week but I'm going to email customer service right now.
I sent an email to Weber customer service last night but I only received an automatic reply indicating that they had received it. Not wanting the day to go by with no action, I went ahead & called customer service this morning. After checking the registration info on my grill, they agreed to send a replacement rotisserie motor to me. This is my first interaction with their customer service... so far so good!
After further thought into what happened to me, I believe when I got the motor wet, then dried it, there was oxidation or contamination between the brushes and the commutator of the motor. Once the two poorly mated surfaces are moved away from each other, better electrical contact is made and the motor operated properly. At least for me.
