    Grill Cover for Weber Genesis

Hey, all. I've read what to look for when shopping for grill covers but haven't seen much in the way of reviews of different covers on the market. My Weber Genesis propane grill has been covered for the past 6 years with a Weber brand cover I got when I originally ordered the grill. That cover has reached the end of its lifespan and needs replaced.

I'm willing to spend a little bit of money here (I dunno, $50-80) if that gets me something with a decent lifespan and good all around protection.

Otherwise, I see this "Classic Accessories 73922 Veranda Barbecue Grill Cover, Large 64 Inch" (Amazon link here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HCNEWM?tag=amazee-20) has decent, but mixed, reviews and is moderately priced. At this pricing level, I don't have a problem replacing every few years.

I suppose I could revisit buying a new Weber branded grill cover, but I have first-hand experience seeing them deteriorate after a few years yet are priced at a premium to the broad market.

Any insight into what might be a worthy replacement grill cover for a Weber Genesis grill would be much appreciated!

Also, I live in central Maryland and this grill sits in a shady area, in case that helps.

    Thanks!

Quick edit: I am generally aware the material for Weber grill covers has changed from what I bought in 2010 to what I have for my 26" kettle which was purchased in 2015. The new material is thinner, seems to "handle" easier (less heavy & clunky). So far, after one year on the 26" kettle, the newer material has seemed to stand up quite nicely. We've had a good mix of hot/cold/snow/rain in the last year.

That said, still looking for any additional ideas for the Genesis propane grill replacement cover

I've been running a couple of Yukon Glory/Glorious Montana covers for a few years now. You can find them on Amazon. They are pretty inexpensive. They are a heavier fabric than the new Weber covers. Based on the current condition of mine. which are going on 3 years, I'm expecting the service life to be in the 4-6 range. Maybe more. BUT for the price I'm good with that. I honestly think that 6 years on a cover is a pretty good lifespan. They have seen a lot of action. High Wind. Sub zero weather. All the time being taken on and off under those conditions.

Huskee has been using one for a while. He may have a different view to share.

I have the tan/khaki colored one. It's showing some mildew spots (grill's in a fairly shady spot), but is holding together nicely. I'd prob opt for the black one next time though, just didn't' want it cuz everything's always black.

      WOW! Your's lasted 6 years!

      Here you go: http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Access...ilpage_o04_s00

Bought it Feb 2015. Runs a little big, but Removal and Placement are a snap! As far as the zipper pouch, I keep the Welder's Gloves, OXO tongs, and GrillGrate's tool inside. Way better than the Weber stuff that tears up within a few years.

I think I read somewhere that the Ravenna line is a little higher quality than the Veranda line. I also have a Ravenna for the Weber 22.5 inch kettle. Slides ON / OFF with no probs! (You can see the kettle cover in 1 of the photos on Amazon)

Last year (about this time last year) I bought the Classic Accessories 73922 Veranda Barbecue Grill Cover, Large 64 Inch for my then-new Genesis EP-330. Bottom line is that it's literally the best grill cover that I've ever owned and I'd give it 10 stars out of 5 any time.

So timely. Bought and assembled an E-330 today and ordered the Classic Veranda cover. Weber prices are a little dispiriting.

I need to replace my Genesis cover also but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Although a bit pricey, I can vouch for the quality of the covers sold by "The Cover Store." I've had their A/C cover for 3 years with no sign of deterioration and recently bought covers for our outdoor furniture. Covers come in 3 levels, classic, elite and ultima and the price goes up accordingly. They sell grill covers in generic sizes and shapes to accommodate kettles, kamados, gassers etc. Here's a link: http://www.the-cover-store.com/grill-covers/
