      David Parrish , thoughts on using this with the SnS.... or would you just recommend GrillGrates flipped upside down?

      I love this guy. His web videos are what got me going. I always liked his flat top grille. That will be next.

          I gotta agree with Breadhead. Grill Grates would be a better option with the Slow 'N Sear. This looks like a nice product but I think it will inhibit airflow too much with the SnS, and the indirect side likely would not be very warm. If he wants to send me one though I'd be happy to test it and see what happens!

            Can you actually smash a burger on upside down GrillGrates, or do you wind up pushing meat through the holes? I've been thinking of dumping the cast iron in favor of GrillGrates for a while.

              I smash burgers on my upside down grill grates all the time on my gasser. Can't imagine it'd be any different over charcoal.

                  Love this guy. He's been using his flat top for about 4 years now. I want one for sure. Always been meaning to make me one but just never got around to it.

                    I already have a Baking Steel, so I don't need one, but I do wonder if the extra caramelization trumps the charcoal flavor you would loose not cooking directly on charcoal?
