    Gloves!

I couldn't believe the Big Orange Store didn't carry basic cotton painters gloves! What are you all wearing under your what I presume, are black nitrile gloves? (Which I own). I own a pair of BBQ Dragon gloves but not for handling food!

I stopped using nitrile gloves. It's either bare hands or utensils when handling food for me. For hot grates and cookware I use harbor freight welding gloves or Ace hardware gloves.

I use a pair of rubber dipped gardening gloves for general stuff related to grilling. I have some
Lamson tools that I like to use once stuff is on the grill. I sometimes use nitrile gloves to cut or pull meat but mostly use my freshly washed clean hands 🔥🔥🐿️

    +1.

I'll wear gloves when handling raw meat but I don't need to fondle my hot meat.

Harbor Freight carries the cotton glove liners. They are relatively inexpensive and make a nice insulating layer under nitrile gloves. They are nice when handing hot food (i.e. pulling pork, finishing steaks etc.).

That's where I get mine. I've been using their nitrile gloves as well.

I use cut resistant gloves. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

Despite their name they offer only minimal cut resistance. But some is better than none.

I use something similar from our Bomgaars Fleet Farm Store. I've run them through the wash machine several times and they hold up great.

I bought a box of cotton glove liners from Malcom Reed / How to BBQ Right and they are holding up well..... going on five years now. A bunch of them just go in the weekly washing machine.

The nitrile gloves give me enough insulation to quickly move food around if I’m smoking under 275f. Anything else needs utensils, because fire is hot. 😁

If I need to grab food that is too hot for just nitrile gloves I use a bar towel. Cheap and they get the job done. Also have multiple uses vs. the cotton gloves.

And 95% of the time I don't bother with the fancy black gloves and just use these from Costco. I think they are $18 or $19 for 400 gloves. They aren't as thick as most of the black ones but again, not looking for heat protection, just looking to keep my hands clean when moving dirty grates or cutting up chicken or whatever:

I use nitrile gloves a lot, not just for handling food but for cleanup too, doing dishes after dinner, and I'll don a pair when I am cleaning out ash from the kettle or pellet rig, cleaning the inside of the pellet cooker, all sorts of things. But I'm the guy who is irrationally overprotective of my hands, so an outlier for sure Have never worn anything under the nitriles though.

Cleaning and/or setting up the rig is a great time for gloves. I try to remember to put them on. Otherwise that stuff is tough to clean off your hands!

Cheapest Cotton liners I can find. (Northern Tool)

Then I cover them with black widow nitrile gloves. They are thick and they stretch over my huge hands! 👊🏻
