Grill Armor High Temp waterproof gloves saved me a SERIOUS burn.

I got these as part of the Third Prize Package for October, and they immediately became my go-to oven gloves; I can pick up hot dishes, I can pull pork with them, and I can also wash them like washing my hands.

Today, I was using them to turn my rib roast under the electric broiler… and the knuckle of the glove hit the broiler element. HARD. Click image for larger version Name:	PC250002.jpg Views:	103 Size:	245.0 KB ID:	1527848

THAT would have hurt badly. But it didn’t even get hot. It smelled to high heaven, and 5 hours later still does, a little. But my knuck is fine.

For $30 minus the AR discount, I’m getting another pair of these; one for inside, one for outside. HIGHLY recommended.

EDITED TO ADD, those aren’t holes, they’re shiny spots where the neoprene melted.

My wrists and the backs of my hands are solid scar tissue, many from exactly what your talking about. Glad your safe.

Worked in a pizza place as a teen. Real stone deck, gas fired, two slot pizza oven. My arms were covered with scars from momentarily touching the upper part of the oven opening. Good times.

Glad you came away unscathed. Your experience is quite the endorsement of those gloves.

Mosca I checked out the reviews on both gloves and both had similar negative reviews, but the cheaper one I noted above had many more negative reviews. I think I will stay away from that one. The main complains I noted was that they got hot quickly (like 8 seconds), they seemed to be less heat resistant over time, and the coating came off. What and how long has you experience with them been?

LA Pork Butt I’ve only had them a couple months. I mostly use them for actually touching hot food, such as peeling cooked acorn squash, pulling pork by hand, moving the roast, etc. They work as advertised. None of the gloves I’ve used resist heat for more than half a minute or so; even Nomex and Kevlar gloves get really hot 5” from burning charcoal. These did what I needed them to do. I don’t have unrealistic expectations, and I’m satisfied. Grill Armor supports AR, and offers the discount!

I’ve picked up a hot grate with the Kevlar gloves; I don’t think I’d do that with these. But again, I think that’s unrealistic. They’re different tools, like different sized Phillips head screwdrivers. These are clearly neoprene, and my knuckle is unscathed. And the photo shows just how hard I hit the broiler element (HARD). It looks like it burned a hole, but it didn’t, that’s just the way the light falls.

I've gotten that knuckle burn on our electric oven broiler, not fun. Those elements are exactly where your knuckles go to pull out the rack.

Yeah, that’s the burn where your skin is seared brown. Little bit of Maillard on the knuckle, not a quick heal.
