If you're looking for something that wont light up the neighborhood....these have been excellent for me for camping and after-dark grilling duties at home. You can conjure up numerous ways to hang them if required.
I talked a Doctor out of an exam light he was replacing. One of those on a 3 foot stand with about 3 feet more of flexible conduit making it easy to put the light where you want it. It has a lot of uses. I can set it up behind my easy chair coming in over my shoulder as a reading lamp, or lighting my work bench when I’m tying crappie jigs. I haven’t used it on the kamado yet because my outdoor cooking area is very well lit. They are handy and portable. There are a bunch of used ones on eBay.
A headlamp works best for me. I have the BioLite 800 (https://www.bioliteenergy.com/products/headlamp-800-pro). It goes where I go 24/7 and provides plenty of light for grilling, cleaning, and anything else. I'd be lost without it.
