Inspired by Huskee I went in search of a long handled brush. I ordered this from Amazon to give it a test.
Not sure how its going to hold up to the expanded metal but looking forward to burning some wood to find out. Got two of them to the door for 18.10 USD. Watch this space for an update:
Thunder Group Heavy Duty Wire Brush with Scraper and Long Wood Handle, 27-Inch
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
I actually had one of those little tiny metal ones fall off and somehow get into my pork and stuck just briefly in my throat. Glad it didn't happen to someone else. Yours is big enough I think you would notice!
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Those brushes are amazing the first year-ish. After the bristles weaken they begin coming off on your grates. If only the scraper were full width, you'll see what I mean when scraping tight to the edges of your smoker. I still need to order a replacement head for mine.
