Got a 12" tube for Christmas, but haven't used it yet. Was reading directions and it stated to use a propane torch or alcohol gel that you can buy on their site. I also have a pellet burning pizza oven and the instructions for it say to use a small amount of charcoal lighter fluid to start the pellets. Was wondering if anybody has used lighter fluid on a tube? The initial pellets with the lighter fluid would burn up rather quickly and the remaining pellets would not have any lighter fluid on them, so I was wondering why it wouldn't work, but thought I'd ask the experts.

I got one recently on love it. I light mine with a propane torch that I already had. I stand mine up on end let flanes come out of the top about 30 seconds the pick it up from the bottom and put it where I want it

propane torch works great. You have to heat the pellets up a good 30 seconds to a minute though or they'll go out. Also helps to get the tube somewhat close to your heat source as that helps the pellets burn at a higher temp for cleaner smoke.
