Looking for a cover for my WOK BURNER

I plan to use the burner without the legs next to my EVO setting on a flat surface I'll build in the outdoor kitchen. That section of the outdoor kitchen catches weather and I would like an easy way to cover up the wok burner. The EVO has a nice SS dome and if I could find something similar, the right size for the wok burner, I think that might be good aesthetically and functionally. The wok burner is about 13" in diameter and 9" high. Can anyone think of something that might work?

Think you might find a SS bucket that size?

Not a bad idea and now I'm wondering about a SS stock pot too.

      Aluminium would work too.

In my unending search for CI bargains I see so much stuff in the thrift shops, garage sales, and goodwill stores that could work. Some is stainless some heavy cast aluminum. Usually it’s priced in the 2 to 3 dollar range. It all depends on your tolerance for such places. I love them because of all the absolute steals I’ve found there.

I love second-hand shops, etc. I'll be keeping an eye out there if I don't think of something worth purchasing new before I find one used. Ideally, it would look a lot like the EVO dome.

One of these might work pretty well.

Here's the cheapest one I saw in a quick search:

That would run me $35 for one large enough which is not bad but I want something closer to matching the adjacent EVO lid so it has to be some sort of shiny metal.

Good idea and I'm looking but I have not found anything big enough yet. Some of these have the aesthetic I am after.

A little pricey, but shiny and the right size: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/cho...71SAP20QT.html

        It's in the running!

Yeah - I was gonna suggest an upside down stainless stock pot. They are not as cheap as they once were though, but it would do the trick.

The only issue with the galvanized bucket/trash can thing upside down is that there will be a lip, and it will hold water on the inverted bottom. At least I see that with the galvanized ash bucket I bought at Lowe's.

It also occurred to me that it would collect water up there. It also looks like an upside-down trash can so I'm less and less inclined to go that route. We did buy the soft cover the wok manufacturer sells that is designed to go over the burner when it's on its legs and therefore it's longer than I need but will work temporarily until I find an alternative.

Look at a cover for the KJ Jr. They are designed for built in rigs. So they are nice and short. That might work well. The Green Egg ones have elastic on them.

That might work! I wouldn't mind a solution that couldn't be blown off but I'll keep this option in mind.

The elastic on the BGE models will stop that. or you could just use a bungee cord, that is what I use for my PBC cover.

Now I'm looking at other small grill covers as well...

Wow, I Struggled and failed to find any of those over 12". Unfortunately, it appears to be 4" tall.

        Product Dimensions ‎17.75 x 17.75 x 4.13 inches

Personally I would only be trying to cover it from direct rainfall. Humid summer air is going to rust up lower half anyway unless you keep giving it an oily rubdown after use. My wok burner setup (I have a Wonder Wok/cart) is covered by a full grill cover and my high humidity summers spot rust it anyway. If you really want to avoid any rusting I'd just stick the whole burner in a cheap Coleman/Igloo cooler when not in use.

The burner is under the roof of the outdoor kitchen but rain comes in sideways sometimes. So side protection would be helpful. I'm also thinking about a shelf directly under the counter I'm going to build for more protective storage. But I still want to be able to just cover it at times. Any pics of your personal set up?

Attjack - don't have any personal pics but it is simply this burner & cart (from their website):

And a grill or patio furniture cover that was of about the right size to cover the top half of the cart. The shelves and legs of their cart is stainless so I wasn't worried about the bottom shelf or anything rusting if a cover didn't reach all the way to the ground.

        Nice setup!

you could look at Coversandall.com - you can provide dimensions of what you want, along with photos and they customize for you. Not horribly expensive, and they are good covers. I have 4 of these for various grills/smokers and my dad has a few for his as well.

In the event you dont’ find what you are looking for.
