Emailed Cajun Bandit on 28/1 enquiring about a replacement door for my 14.5" WSM, and shipping cost to UK. Got a response almost immediately, made the purchase, and got confirmation from Chris Perres and UPS notification that it had been despatched
All turned round the same day within just a few hours - that's great customer service, hats off to Cajun Bandit, very impressive!
Now arrived. Just need it to stop raining and blowing a hoolie here, and I'll be trying it out
I received my door and hinge kit also. After a little tweaking on the bench, the door fits tightly and I'm anxious to fire up my WSM 18". No hoolie here, just down right cold!
Well, the wind dropped and the rain stopped so I lit a little fuel, added a wood chunk, and tried the door yesterday
Oh, and I also threw on a chicken breast for my lunch - well, you can't light a WSM without putting some food on it, now can you?
I already had a Southco latch. Don't know if it's the exact one that Cajun Bandit use but it looks very close indeed. Anyway, it was very easily fitted and adjusted. I did wonder whether to remove the gasket strip I had added round the opening to seal the original Weber door, but in the end I left it on
First impressions are that the Cajun Bandit door is a great fit. One VERY tiny smoke leak from the bottom corner where the tongue sits inside the door opening but it was minimal, and will be very easily remedied by adding a small piece of gasket material. Very glad I bought this - great item!
