Heip! Need Spools for Temp Probe Storage for Maverick & DigiQ's! Suggestions?
I have been looking for a Source For Spools to Wrap my Temp Probes Individually arround for storage! The best option I have come Up With 🤆Is 100-150 yd Monofiliment Fishing Line Spools? Finding empty spools is like looking for Chicken Teeth?
Any Suggestions?

I just wrap the probes around 2 fingers to wind them up. Then I wind the end of it around the loop a couple of times so it stays wound up. Then I put all the probes & the monitors in a small Dell laptop case and zip it up.
I also have the Kettle & BGE sitting side by side. Lots of times I'll just leave the probes & monitors in whichever grill that's not hot.ðŸ‘Â
Breadhead, You and I are on the same boat! I am just trying to come up with a better way to keep the
Probe leads from getting kinked! Thanks for Your Input!

I have 6 foot probes. I carefully wind the cable around my hand and then zip tie them. Store individual probes in padded envelopes. Store injector, maverick electronics ( in padded envelopes also), probes, small junk, etc. in old CDC carry bag I scammed from #1.
Cookers:
Large Big Green Egg with a Ceramic Grill Store rack system, and the SnS setup.
Weber Genesis SA-E-330 LP INDIGO with SS Grates, Weber Crafted frame kit, baking stone, griddle (2/3), all from Ace Hardware.
For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.
Everything Else:
SnS #3 with certificate. I was their first customer.
Sous Vide equipment.
SnS and Thermoworks instant read and leave-in thermometers.
Grill Grates for BGE.
Kingsford Blue Bag, Weber lighter cubes, Weber charcoal chimneys.
Rubs with salt: Meat Church Holy Cow.
Rubs without salt: Home-mixed versions of previously sold SnS Grills Rocky's Rub and Not Just for Beef using their recipe. SPOG.
Spices: Lots of 'em.
I wrap my probe wires around my fingers like Breadhead but use a bread twisty-tie to keep them from unwinding and store them in a small wood box with a drawer (it's about 1' deep and 1-1/2" wide) that a friend found at a yard sale and gave to me. The box is large enough to store my thermometers in also, as well as spares. Everyone has spares - yes?
fuzzydaddy, I do have a couple of Clear Plastic Boxes with Snap on Lids to store the Maverick and the DigiQ 2 in. I am just trying to find a better way to mind the Probes in the Boxes! Thanks for the Help!

Lots of great suggestions for storing probes on this post. Thank you gents. The LittleBear has already let me know that the four probes living on our kitchen countertop is not workin' for her!

Your the man Dan, great idea!
I always threw mine in a drawer and was mad every time I pulled them out and had to untangle them. Your idea made me think, how about the heavy cardboard tube from foodsaver bags? or pvc water pipe. A quick throw together.
Powersmoke_80, I think we are making Progress Now! I believe your ProtoType or Proof of Concept Shows Promise! I think a flat reel or spool is what my original thought was but?? Thanks!

Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Toilet paper or paper towel tube? I just roll mine up like you would a tiny extension cord or garden hose. I make about 2-3" loop with 'em, put a twist tie on them and toss 'em in the drawer.

Inspite of the Orientation I thought I Would the Pics Below to show what I am trying to solve? Note the ZipLok Storage Container Perfect for the Maverick a separate one is used for the DigiQ 2. Note the Clothes Pins used currently on the Probes, Functional but just! Note the New Set of Probes, 6'
Hybrid! I think spools would work better for future storage? Just thought I would show you! Dan Perplexed in Fargo!
