Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I expected a little more than a year out of something so heavy duty. So far I have yet to find an adequate grill brush that lasts more than a year. I thought this was finally it, but no dice. I discovered what I thought was hairs on my grates, then took a gander up close to the head of the brush. I do like triangle shaped Weber T-brush, but they're not solid enough for the heavy duty use on my big stickburner. I probably use it more than the average weekend warrior, so maybe I really got 5 years' use out of it, who knows.
Anyone else have issues with The Last Brush? Anyone know of a similar large one that actually is the "last" one a person needs?
Last year I wore out a brush - think it may have been the first time I'd done that. Replacement didn't last a yea, so I'm looking forward to some good alternatives!
I think I recall fzxdoc had started a similar thread some time ago, but don't recall the good alternatives.
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

You could try using a Flat Wire brush. Rather than having small round wires, they're thin flat strips. They are more heavy duty, so I'm not sure how well it would contour around the grill grates. But it should last a whole lot longer!
Still my fav. 5 bucks Home Depot
Yep this is what I use. Bought two this week in fact. $5 each and last as long as any dedicated grill brush I've ever bought, plus they do a better job cleaning the grates.
I have tried at least a dozen and honestly I get better results every time using a wad of foil. I have the Sam's Club 1/4 mile of foil box and I don't have to worry about bristles.

Thought I'd update: I emailed the company asking if there's a warranty maybe I wasn't aware of. No such luck. However, the good news is that they sell replacement heads for them for $5.25 ea, requires only screwdriver and a minute or two of time. This is very acceptable to me, considering the head is the business end and a new one really means a whole new brush. Shipping is steep at an additional $7.85 though, or $12-something for 2 heads. In case anyone cares, replacement heads are here: http://store.esntech.com/index.php?a...ref=tlbrephead
I hear you. My struggle is that a whole new one is $24, and a new head essentially means a new brush....so then a new brush for ~$13 by getting the head w/ shipping isn't so bad.
I've seen something very very similar on Amazon, that comes with extra heads (which are replaceable of course.) I like the looks of it, and had the Amazon one in my cart. Haven't pulled the trigger though. Thanks!

Those brushes are just too small for my large offset. I don't doubt they're great for normal sized grates though, especially wire grill grates with that grate crevice tool.
I kinda thought that might be the case ... but if you ever get around to downsizing like I've been doing (Weber Genesis is now the "big iron" here), those little Weber brushes really do the trick.
Im going to do a test. I just ordered two of these. They cant be very good for this price. just sayin
. Thunder Group Heavy Duty Wire Brush with Scraper and Long Wood Handle, 27-Inch
Those look to be the exact same as The Last Brush- either another company using the same supplier or a direct knock-off. I wish the scraper was as wide as the brush. It's hard to scrape close to edges the way it's designed now.
