Why don't we have more cordless appliances?

My Dewalt driver is very powerful and relatively affordable. Why hasn't anyone made a collection of kitchen tools that run off similar technologies? Imagine a battery pack that can plug into your blender, food processor, mixer, immersion blender, etc.

That is a Great Idea! A man could make a tonne of money with the right connections.

I dunno, I have no shortage of outlets in my kitchen. I personally wouldn't buy them except for a cordless vacuum sealer to take on hunts/fishing trips.

I know KA has a line of cordless ones.

I was not aware of the KA line. I still think a battery pack might be better than a bunch of chargers.

I’m sure they would sell like hot cakes. I’m going the other way. All the shop tools I’ve replaced recently have gone from being battery powered to plug in. My new Dewalt saws all is plug in as is my jig saw. They all get used inside my shop so I don’t really need them to be that portable. If I were a contractor I would be going all battery. I can see someone that caters or entertains regularly loving battery powered kitchen appliances. The first thing I would want would be a battery powered knife.

I'm a fan of both. Sometimes cordless is really nice and sometimes it doesn't really matter. It used to be cordless was underpowered but progress has been made.

If hot cakes are the standard by which great selling products are compared to then why don't people sell more hot cakes? Seems an easy way to make a killing.

I'm a fan of the DeWalt cordless stuff. I had no idea I would use the impact wrench as much as I have. And the reciprocating saw is amazingly handy when I need it.

As for appliances, ours don't move around enough for it to matter.

I also have been replacing power tools in my shop with corded versions as I need to. As noted above, they never leave the shop and I have outlets everywhere. Also, they cost less, both initially and ongoing.

As for the kitchen, as also noted above, they just don’t move around so it doesn’t matter.

I’m pretty sure the ‘electric cord’ lobby is pretty strong. 😉🤣

ID:	1344041 I remember saying pretty much the same thing. Back in 1976 when I bought my first car, 76 Camero, I received a cordless battery powered vacuum cleaner from my parents. I wondered at the time why the removable handle / battery pack didn't fit other tools.
I will say they were worth waiting for.

I had a cordless immersion blender, it was great until it wasn't. Replaced it with a corded one. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my 80V cordless lawn tools, and someday kitchen appliances might make sense but right now I have no use for them.

The drills and impact wrenches and jigsaw work well and the battery lasts a good long time in those

however the angle grinder works great but plows through the same battery pack in single digit minutes. I’m guessing the power needed for a mixer could mean very short battery life.

I love my cordless tools in the shop, but I'm not sure I would buy them again 'cause the shop has power. I am glad I have cordless drills and a cordless circular saw because I use them outside.

I also love my cordless trimmer, leaf blower, and mower. They are much quieter, and they just run without any hassle.

I never use any kitchen appliances outside, so I don't see the need for cordless there.

I wouldn't get rid of my corded appliances to replace with battery. Not economical or good the for the environment IMO. Battery driven stand mixer?

In a video I watched today, I saw Kent Rollins using his Dewalt driver with a mixer blade attached to it. Check it out at 7:20 time in this video...

What/who's the market? Campers? Off grid-ers? How do they get charged then? What kitchen prep are you realistically doing with no power? How are you cooking what you've prepped with battery devices? I guess we need to think how we'd actually use these things in real world scenarios, and therefore if they'd actually sell, before they get manufactured. Otherwise, cord-in-wall is hard to beat.

The appliances that don't move don't matter to me. Would be nice to take things out to the lanai/patio/beach or on road trips, without worrying about power. Then I think back to early tools with proprietary battery packs that, when they die, can't be replaced because the pack has changed. Good and bad points of each case.
