I wonder if Louigi Primo had anything to do with it?

As I was about to dispose of the minimalist packaging from these dish cloths, I found this.

I can’t tell with certainty if this is a handwritten note but, regardless, it’s a nice flourish. It was on the backside of the packaging. If anyone else orders these look for a note and post a pic please if there is one.

I’ve been using the Wettex brand for about a week, and I have to say they are fantastic. They hold a lot of water and soap, but they are different from sponges in that they wring completely clean from dirt and suds very quickly. I’ve been using them on everything that I used to use paper towels on, except oiling the griddle.

Same here. I’ve already grown attached to these things.

Would you use them to dry off say fish instead of paper towels?

I think you could, but I don’t know if the fish smell would wash off easily. I’m not a fish guy,

I purchased some Wettex brand ones after this thread got my attention. Just used one to clean my slicer and it was great. Because of its thinness but strength I was able to clean into the smallest crevices and clean them throughly without a lot of hassle. I’m going to buy some more as stocking stuffers for my ecology minded family members.

I got the Wettex dish clothes this week, and we've been using one so far for wiping down kitchen counters, stove, etc. Seems to work well and I am hopeful to save paper towels. With the stove and some windex, while it wiped well, I used a paper towel to dry to prevent streaking, but that is a lot less paper towels than I would normally use.

I circled back around to this topic to see when I bought my dish cloths in order to assess their durability. I just threw the first one away from the original pack I got in November 2022. It had become thin, scruffy and had a hole in it.

The rest of them are also getting worn so I bought a new pack in December so I could down cycle the old ones into the rag bin. I still use them often.

Anyone else have bad or good stories to share about these cloths? I’m extremely pleased with them.

Do you toss them in the wash machine to clean?

            K.

fzxdoc Yup! Sometimes, if they’re not stained, I’ll just nuke them in the uWave to sterilize.

To be honest, I keep forgetting we have these under the sink! I need to use them more.

I use them daily, and the ones I got a bit later than yours are going strong. I had one get torn (knifing incident) and pretty worn, so I put it in the compost bin and have not seen it since. Ashes to ashes, so to speak, which is how I like it.

Remind me to stay out of Tampa ERs. Do not want to experience a knifing incident there. Altho, we do have legal human composting in Washington State!

yakima no worries,I've made my living dealing with knifing incidents. Routine. Most, in my experience, occur on Sunday mornings, and involve attempting to get the pit out of an avocado.

I didn’t realize an avocado had to got to the ER to be pitted. Live and learn.

We use those dish cloths every day. They seem to last several months...or more!

Ditto, Skip. I love these things and we’ve really cut down on our use of paper towels.
