    Briner Bucket for Turkey

Does anyone have one of these Briner Buckets for brining their Thanksgiving Turkey? Do they really work? I struggle with plastic bags that can easily get holes poked in them by sharp bones.
Built-in plastic plate that slides down and locks in place to hold whatever you are brining below the liquid. Manufactured from food grade, BPA free plastic.

I have one, but I don’t brine a lot. If you want it for a turkey you probably should get the large. They are nice for keeping the meat submerged.

Have you used large ziplock bags? https://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Big-Ba...%3D%3D&sr=8-11

I tried one one year and it worked great. No clean-up when done.

When I wet brine s turkey (not often lately) I use my Igloo cooler with large brining bags. Like these

5 Gallon Bucket Liner Bags for Marinating and Brining, Food Grade, BPA Free, Extra Heavy Duty Leak Proof (10 pack)

Brine in the bag with the bird. Fill the cooler with ice, lid on—done.

+1 on food grade buckets (Lowes/Home Depot) I also have a couple of the 2 gallon buckets.

We use these along with a 5 gallon bucket from HD/Lowes. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have used the large Ziplocs numerous times. They are quite a bit thicker than the regular ones, though I can see being worried about turkey bones poking holes.

I use a five gallon food grade plastic pail, most restaurants will be happy to give you an empty one. Just make sure it's food grade

Nah, I use a 5-gallon bucket with the lid. cheaper and they work just as well. I got mine from Uline, just because we have an account with them, but you can buy them almost anywhere.

I also use them for pastrami too.

Ive always used bags as I have no place in my fridge that I can fit a bucket!

Dry brine is much easier and works just as well.

I usually wet brine my turkeys in the winter (when it's cold outside) in a 5 gallon picnic cooler (think Gatorade-style) filled with water, salt, and ice, which I leave outside. I've never used a liner bag, but I do scrub it pretty thoroughly afterwards.

I use these. $1.50 per bag and I can use 5 gallon bucket of choice, doesn't have to be food grade since you're using the bag:

I just use a clean cooler. I would be interested in your review though.

I am a +1 on the briner buckets. I keep it cool using a cooler and ice as I don't have enough room in the fridge for a bucket. I have yet to find a cooler where I can close the lid on the bucket so with leaving the lid open have to monitor for ice on a regular basis.
