Selecting Grillgrates For Genesis E330

Hi,
With the holiday sale it's a great time to buy the grillgrates. On their website they seem to indicate that some air space should be around the grates, but a full replacement of 5 panels on a Genesis E330 looks to fill the space completely.
Is it preferred to have that airspace? Any gotcha's for using all 5? One thing I recall reading from Meathead is that you should separate them for indirect cooking due to their high conductivity. Didn't seem like there would be room for that.

I'd prefer to replace, rather than add on top.

I have a set on my Kamado. I don't have any space between my grates and they work amazing. Way better than the cast iron grate that came stock. I just bought a set for my brothers Weber Spirit. I just got the full replacement, I didn't worry about the space between the grates. thefist

I have a full set on my Weber Genesis 330...no problems

I have full coverage on my four burner gasser and I would not change it. For one thing, they do not move when you are working like they can if you just lay them on top of the grates. For reverse searing, I leave two burners off and two on low. When the steaks get close to temp, I turn the tow low burners to high and the GrillGrates heat up VERY quickly. I have checked them with an IR gun and they get to around 900 degrees if I let them. So I don't worry about separating them for two zones.
