Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Ok, got it.
It came up in an email ad. My thinking was 1) easier lighting for the BGE and 2) lighting the snakehead in the S&S for a kettle cook.
But, I use a Performer with gas assist, I can just fill the S&S and move the snakehead over the gas burner. And I’ve been using my BGE for 12 years, it always seems to light right up using an electric loop. The loop is effective, but cumbersome, and I’ve burned myself on it once or twice.
Im going to pass, I just don’t think my need is that great. Thanks.

I just purchased the JJ George propane torch designed for BBQ ing from Amazon for about $38 w/o the propane. I like the company's other products, especially their BGE tables, and have had my eye on this for quite a while. I tried it last night and it was somewhat disappointing. It's easy to operate and puts out a strong flame, but it took at least a minute of steady heating to get the lumps hot enough so they don't fizzle out after removing the torch. And during all that time it's using what seems like quite a bit of gas. The unit that JJG sells screws onto a propane tank that I purchased seperately for $7. It appears to be cheaply made with inexpensively plated steel fittings rather than brass. I decided to return it and go back to my chimney starters and Weber starter cubes. I think they do a better job than the propane torch.

I have a Benzomatic and you can't go wrong with it. I use it in the outdoor kitchen including for searing stuff.
I've had this since 2019 and use it to light Weber starter cubes. It's not super powerful but you just pull the trigger which is nice.
I also have a couple of these. They are very convenient. I buy the butane by the case. I keep one in my indoor kitchen and one in the outdoor kitchen at the cabin.
On sale of $10 right now which is what I paid: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought this one in 2016 and it lasted for years but has since died.
