    Led Work Lights

I saw this on the Shirley Face Book page and picked one up. Stadium lighting for the dark days of winter. They work great.

I have flood lights mounted to the wall but I have to stand between them and the grill when cooking casting a bad shadow. I couldn't see a thing. I tried headlamps but was not a fan. They worked okay but I like general lighting better. The Milwaukee lights up the whole deck. Both battery and corded. Pretty awesome.

Looks bright. Any specs on what you bought? Lumens? Color temp? CRI?

I'm also interested in which headlamp you tried and what you didn't like about it.

I have the single-head unit and it is amazing how much quality light it produces. And the 3 different light levels are a nice touch as well. Not cheap, but I think a great value. Plus, it folds up into an easily storable little package.

I find LEDs wash out a lot of color they're so bright so not always a true representation of what your doing.
I have to watch what I buy as when LEDs are too bright I get headaches.
We just replaced some old rope lighting in our kitchen with LED rope lights, man its bright in there.
        How bright is it....
NavCan has amended Notams singling out our house as the place to turn to line up with 26R for aircraft landings.

LED's come in a spectrum of color temperature and color rendering index. I spent a lot of time researching an finding the lighting for our rooms and their purpose. The kitchen, closets and bathrooms are more towards task lighting, while the living and sleeping areas are more warm white and less bright. They are all on dimmers as well. These light stands are task lights and therefore very bright. The Milwaukee has a 3 step switch that lowers the brightness.

I like LED lighting. Much more than florescent. I tend towards cool whites and natural spectrums.

Looks like there are 5 models. Which one do you have Old Glory?

I've got a similar Ryobi LED work light that can run from an 18V battery pack or an extension cord, and have been known to put it out by the grills when grilling at night. I eventually plan to put a few LED flood lights in my grilling area, but like you say - they might get blocked by me standing over the grill. I can put the tripod LED work light at the end of the grill shining across it.

Those Ryobis are very nice.Dewalt also makes a good light tower.

Huskee yes - I like it a lot, and if just using for a short time, tend to use it on battery. If I’m using it for painting or something that takes hours I’ll grab an extension cord. I think it will run several hours on a 3Ah or 4Ah battery pack.

If I didn’t have a dozen Ryobi tools and batteries I think there are better corded options, but this is much better than my old dual 500W halogen work light. That thing heated up a room and spun the meter with 1000W.

I need one like that. I have the same problem as you- lights on the wall outside but I stand between it and the grill. Ryobi makes one on a 5' stand that works on all their 18v batteries or an AC cord/outlet. Since I am invested in their batteries for other tools I am really considering buying it.

The Milwaukee goes up 7 feet so I can position it to shine over my head down onto the grill. Just something to think about.

That’s pretty cool. I have the same issue and ended up with a Dewalt hand held task light, but it stands on its own on one of the shelves of a grill when I need it.

I was looking at the Dewalt tower as well. Good products.

Old Glory I really didn’t look at the tower, I just got the little handheld one. Seeing your tower, I wish I would have looked closer. I just saw the prices and moved on. That tower would be handy for lots of stuff.

Huskee found a picture of a night time cook in the past where the battery powered Ryobi came in handy…

I struggled cooking in the dark for so long. These things are game changers for night time cooks.

The Milwaukee comes with battery and charger. Can plug in or be cordless. Not sure of color temp but seems cool white. I'm not sure if color temp matters for outdoor grilling. It throws a sh!t ton of light where you want it. It might matter for painting or if you were working under them all day but for me light is light for grilling.

6,000 lumens, it fills up large areas with TRUEVIEW High Definition light. For optimized control over the output and run-time, the LED Light has three output settings. The LEDs never need to be replaced and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Milwaukee’s TRUEVIEW LED lighting products have a color temperature of 4000K, which is not quite what would be considered daylight (~5600K). 4000K is nearly right smack between warm and cool ends of the white light spectrum, and is quite pleasing.
