So I went it to the supermarket to do some food shopping. When I got home, this was waiting for me in there mailbox:

This thing is seriously awesome. The finest "usable" grind is practically like powder. The coarsest (well, the instructions say you go even coarser by removing the safety which keeps the assisting thumb screw for being accidentally twisted off) is coarse enough, IMHO, to use to make steak au poivre. And there is an enormous range of coarseness in between. The coarser the grind, the higher the output. It was really too expensive, but it's so cool, I'm not gonna second guess myself.
