Panhead John it wasn't my toenails, silly. I had a wax job scheduled, plus my hair and finger nails. And WI Bubba, here in the south we only say waffle if it is followed by house. -
klflowers Waffle House has to be the best good-bad food in the world. Like, you know in your head that it's cheap, low-quality food (that's also bad for you), but your heart just knows how good it tastes. It's probably good that they don't have them up here, or I'd be gaining 100lb a month and still feasting on country ham and hashbrowns.

We live 10 minutes from the hotel, so will be sleeping at home. Jill will be working Thursday and Friday, joining us for evening festivities. Our son in law may take off work Friday to go to Goldee’s with us. He went to high school with the 5 guys who founded Goldee’s.Comment

Just a little heads up on our tentative plans for the weekend…..for our Thursday night tradition of Mexican food we’ll probably plan on dinner at Mariano’s Mexican Restaurant at around 6:30 to 7 pm. One of the reasons we ask for a head count of everyone coming is to help with reservations when needed. The week before we get there I’ll call Mariano’s and give them a head count.
We thought Friday morning we’d hit Goldee’s instead of going on Saturday, it should be less of a wait in line. Jay has offered to do a Friday morning drive-by of Goldee’s a few weeks before we get there to give us an idea of how long the line will be. At this time I’m thinking we should plan on getting there around 9 am for their 11:00 opening……9:30 at the latest. Goldee’s does offer some folding chairs for people, but their supply could be limited, so for anyone driving in you might want to bring some if possible. I’m going to bring 2 folding chairs so I’ll have an extra. I can also bring my cooler to Goldee’s so we’ll have water and cold drinks for us. I might even have some Coor’s Light for 58limited , his favorite beer!
For our Friday and Saturday night dinners it’s usually a “play it by ear”, last minute decision. Sometimes we’re still full from our BBQ lunch and don’t feel like going out to a restaurant. Sometimes we all chip in and have pizza delivered to the hotel.
Some folks might have brought BBQ leftovers back to their room and just have some of that. Anywho, everyone is free to do what they want for dinner those nights. We’ll have plenty of restaurant options for anyone wanting to dine out.
Our Saturday BBQ lunch is still open at this time. On many of these MeatUps we might have 2 or 3 different groups going to different places, the choice is yours. If anyone has suggestions for Saturday lunch, feel free to post them here! I’ll also be throwing out a few suggestions for us here and there.
