I Hosted Meathead & His Wife, And FireMan & His Wife Yesterday

Yesterday I had the privilege of hosting Meathead and his wife Lou, along with FireMan and his wife Sara, for lunch. I made smashburger sliders (ironically I didn't realize it was national cheeseburger day), I picked up some Roma tomatoes from the farmer's market and my wife prepared Caprese salad and some fresh baked crostinis with olive oil & balsamic for dipping, with help from Lou & Sara, a couple of great ladies. We had chips and authentic homemade salsa courtesy of FireMan and Sara. Meathead & Lou arrived bearing gifts of some very nice beverages & sweet treats.

I didn't get a proper pic of the spread of food, but believe me when I say it was great!

I never thought the day would come when as I made smashburgers I'd have Meathead standing in my kitchen an arm's length away, and on my deck standing at my griddle watching my every move, and photographing. No pressure there!

Man, that is so cool. Thank you for sharing the pictures. My closest analog was when my band got to warm up Stevie Ray Vaughan and double trouble. Being a guitar player that was super intense for me.

If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
