I am planning to go to ZZQ in Richmond Va. on Saturday 7/26/25...Planning to get there before they open, if I am going to wait in line might as well be toward the front...If anyone is in the Central Va area I would love to meet you there... RonB
eta...I will be the heavyset guy wearing either a ZZQ or Martin's BBQ Joint hat sitting at an inside table...
I would love to do another Meat-Up like we did at James River State Park...that was a great weekend of fellowship and BBQ...with a thunderstorm thrown in to add some excitement...
RonB and I met up at ZZQ this morning. I was in line about 20 min before they opened and was about 10th in line, the line grew quickly after I got there. RonB went to their sister restaurant EazzyBurger and got one of their excellent burgers.
At ZZQ I got one of the Saturday specials Beef Cheeks, smoked Lamb is the other Saturday special. I also got some pork spare ribs, some of my favorite spare ribs, and a link of their Texas Hot Guts sausage. As a side I got some of their version of elote. Everything was excellent as always. This was my first time trying beef cheek, possibly one of the best BBQ items I have ever had.
I enjoyed it too Chris. The people who run ZZQ and Eazzy Burger are very nice, and the food is always great. Anyone care to guess who their favorite band is?
Eazzy Burger is a small gourmet burger joint right next to ZZQ. They serve burgers and hot dogs as well as a chicken sandwich. They have several sides, but their fries are fresh made and excellent. There onion rings are also top notch and fresh made.
I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings, (hoping Chris would help eat them 'cause that's more than I could eat). It's the second time I have been there, and it was great both times.
Since both places are owned by the same people, I just walked my food over to ZZQ to sit with Chris. The owner walked by and was happy that I brought my burger into the Q restaurant.
I do prefer a good burger over any Q - that's why I bought a burger. And it's a good thing they are not located any closer to my house because I'd eat there too often.
Almost forgot to mention that they use fresh tomatoes on their burgers instead of the TSOs, (tomato shaped objects), most restaurants use.
