    Mini Meat-Up and Fish-Up 😁

Noob and his queen were treated to Wibs & pulled pork sammys with corn by Capt Lee and Carolyn in Buena Vista CO! Oh boy it was good to have some great home cooked BBQ!
My pit at the home we are staying at is limited so I invited the Capt to wet a line on the Arkansas river behind the house. In a few hours we landed a few good fish on the beautiful river. See if you can spot the fish in the pic by who I now refer to as Capt Butterfingers. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
We are laughing with, not at😁😁😁

I think I could fish there all day! What a backdrop.
That looks like it was a great time, food and company.

Well, he may be Captain Butterfingers, but from the looks of that third picture, I'd both of you may have messed up giving those two time alone.

True spot fisherman, Catch and release.
Who wants to eat those slimy things anyway?

Actually I do use a no barb hook and most of the time they release in the net without touching them. I prefer not to handle them at all and release them directly from the net. Also holding a fish and squeezing it in the gut so tightly can surely injure them along with your hands removing that protective slime. I think the last river fish that I ever kept was back in my teens. I just prefer to release.

Looks like a great time. Ya can't drop 'em if ya don't catch 'em.

And Wow on the tomato plant!

Actually that was one huge strong rainbow, he beat out a 6'4" 200 lb fisherman. Ole smokenoob was just jealous at the monstrous size of that one. Lots of fun this afternoon fishing together, we are fortunate to have that river running through town.

no doubt, through the zoom lens I did not correctly assess the situation from such a distance!

Yeah, baby, fishing the tailout eddies! My favorite rig for that is an Adams on top with a PTN dropper.

I caught a few trout fishing deep with nymphs in the slower water and then on a dry Chernobyl with a Parachute Adams trailing! I think Lee was using dynamite 😁

Fishing on top....... Go Dry or Go Home !!! Used a small attractor, no hatch going on a few hoppers on the bank.

Actually what smokenoob was doing the commercial fishermen call long lining, dragging hundreds of hooks over many miles.

haha! If the shoe fits wear it or if the long line catches fish, fish it! The fish were looking up and eating way across the river, the fish on our side of the river were hiding low probably because they saw us 😁 I finally got a good cast all the way across with a dry fly and hooked up!
