Rocky Mountain Mini Meat-Up was attended by captainlee , smokenoob and their lovely wives Carolyn and Joanne. Rumor has it BBQ Magazine was to cover the event but the reporter and photographer were last seen following their new navigation app “Daz” over Tin Cup Pass. Many reported sightings of Meathead in town but we believe these were false reports as it’s the beginning of elk archery hunting season and well……there are a lot of Meatheads in town but we don’t believe any of em are our Meathead. Smokenoob hosted the introduction in 3 Elk country and Captainlee followed up with yoder chicken in Pinion country. That Yoder is a SWEET machine! Lee built a custom rotisserie attachment for it.
We had a great meal and now great new friends!

Looks like a great time with great people. However your only slip up was failing to post working plans and numerous photos of this custom rotisserie for the Yoder.
Fun time get together, great to make new friends. Unfortunately we never got a chance to fish together this summer but we are on schedule for next year. Carolyn and Joanne bonded as well so we now have a great crew of 4 for future adventures.

Ok, nothing real complicated on the rotisserie. I bought a motor and rod assembly on Amazon. The rod had to be cut to fit the smoker. Of course you had to drill a hole on the side of the smoker, just be careful to center it and get your height as desired. My hole location was centered under the round flue. After drilling a hole in the bottom of a boat it's easy to drill anything. A few more smaller holes had to be drilled to attach the motor mounting bracket. There wasn't A place to attach the opposite side of the rod so I had to fabricate a holder because the top channel aluminum secures it from moving back and forth. That bracket assembly hangs off the shelf support and is just long enough to intersect the base of the smoker. The entire assembly is made from channel aluminum which I purchased at the local True Value. The bracket hangs firmly in place and won't go anywhere. The bracket was originally a prototype, but it fit so well I just used it. The rod and motor kit contained the motor mounting bracket and that U guide piece on the left in which the rod spins on. I have a temperature pobe hole on the opposite side of the smoker. That has a metal shield that you can swing to close off the hole when not using a probe. I copied that idea and made one to cover that rod hole on right side when not using the rotisserie. I'll be glad to answer any question.
Thank you for the details and the pics. I feel like smokenoob was the announcer with the tease - "Still to come, ..." and your post was worth staying tuned for. I think this is beyond my minimal skills, but at least my curiosity is quenched.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
I've been to 3 meatups and consider every person I've met to be a personal friend. I know I have a couch to crash on anywhere in the US, Australia, South Africa, Norway or Sweden. Probably a few others as well.
