I had family in the area for a while, but no longer... make sure to check out Bricktown in OKC. I never really had any BBQ on my visits and it looks like the Mexican place I liked is no longer there or changed names. If you like baseball the Bricktown ballpark is one of the nicest AAA parks I've been to even if it is currently affiliated with the LA Dodgers

If you're looking to try a BBQ joint then Van's Pig Stand is pretty good. We ate there last May.

I have been to Van’s in Norman many times over the last two or three decades. Great food!

Ray’s Smokehouse on Lindsey is good. He’s a former OU safety, played 5 or so years with the Jets. It’s Darrol Ray, by the way.

Haven't been there in years, but I remember Leo's BBQ in OKC just north of OU Medical Center was the bomb. I think on Kelly? Maybe 23rd & Kelly? I liked it back in the day... and their strawberry-banana cake is awesome.

<edit2> Ok, I did some research and I wasn't as far off as I thought. I was almost SURE I remembered it being on the SW corner of the intersection - seems that was 36th & Kelley - now they've moved into the Homeland store building at 36th & Lincoln. So I was not remembering too far off....
