I'm going to post a full account of my trip to Alabama and Memphis when I get back home on Friday, but I have to mention that on the first day of our BBQ trip, a very gracious jfmorris met my friends and me at breweries in Huntsville, AL today. So cool to meet Jim. What an incredibly fun time!

The Meat Up fire is growing in all shapes and sizes! It is always fun to meet the folks in the Pit who were just names and posts before.Last edited by LA Pork Butt; June 28, 2023, 06:43 AM.

mrteddyprincess Brian, it was so great to meet you and your friends yesterday! I wish I had been able to go try some BBQ with you guys, but at least we were able to "meet up" later for drinks at two different side-by-side breweries here in Huntsville.
For those of you who don't know, Brian teaches physics, and his buddies were all science teachers of one persuasion or another, so it was quite the brain trust! They put me in my place as a a lowly engineer, haha! Just kidding! They were all great guys, and I hope to meet them again some day.
Anyone else who comes through Huntsville, feel free to drop me a line. As much as I would love to see a North Alabama "Meat Up", I hate to say it, but while Huntsville has some BBQ restaurants and franchises, its not an end-destination for most seeking great BBQ, unless you want to hangout in my backyard smoking ribs and drinking beer...
Save travels onward to Memphis and some truly great "Que", and let's all cross our fingers that the alternator holds out..
