Just booked the hotel. Not 100% sure if it'll be me solo, or if the better half can come, travel dates/plans, what-have-you. I would venture to guess that we would not arrive in time for Thursday dinner.
But we have a place to stay.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I might show up. I changed jobs recently, haven't figured out the days off request system yet (it is remarkably obtuse, and the person who approves even more so..) but I need an escape. I have a rather annoying balance problem, from too many hip replacements, so hiking on uneven terrain is out but I think I could manage not falling off a boat. I would drive, I know Pensacola is about 8 hours by road from here, 7 by the clock, so I'd likely drive about that far on Wed and the rest of the way Thurs. Leave Sun and get part way, rest of it on Mon. Won't commit until I have okay by the vacay nazi, but seems a good chance given no school vacations or serious holidays.
