ZZQ 5 year Anniversary 3/4/23 - Richmond, Va. Meat-up idea

ZZQ is turning 5 years old and is having a celebration on March 4th. They are planning to have special menu items, merchandise, live music, extended hours and more.

I was wondering if anyone wanted to meat-up there for some good BBQ and fellowship.

I figure they will be busier than normal so I am going to arrive early for the line.

Planning to get there between 9:30 and 10:00, if there is no line when I get there i guess I will be at the front of the line. I plan to stay for a while enjoying the event and chatting with people, there may also be some adult beverages involved.

I will be wearing a hat from a BBQ joint, not sure which one yet and a shirt with BKYD BBQ on the back of it if anyone wants to look for me...

Here is my tray today. Bacon Ribs, Brisket, Hot Link and Rice n Gravy. Good eats and leftovers for a day or two.

Of course a complimentary Lone Star beer to go with it.

t was great meeting you too Chris. A great time, but the music was too loud.

I got one slice of brisket point, and one beef rib. Both were very good - moist and tender. I also got potato salad and caramelized onion pie. The potato salad was good, but the pie had too much crust, and the crust was tough. The filling was good though. And free Lone Star is always nice. They should have a birthday celebration more often.

Unfortunately, I tripped on an uneven piece of the concrete sidewalk and went down. Both knees are sore, my right thigh and right shoulder are sore, and I scraped the back of the fingers on my right hand and probably sprained my right pinky. I also bruised my ego.

And yes, I iced my right hand as soon as I got home.
