This was fun. WayneT was traveling through the Chicago area. We were lucky enough to have him stop by for dinner. We had a wonderful time. We were so busy laughing and talking, I actually forgot take pictures of our food.
Anyway doesn't matter. We had a blast and we now consider ourselves friends. The Pit really is an awesome place. My wife Linda probably loves Wayne more than me...lol..We are all definitely kindred spirits for sure.
I will say Wayne is one of the kindest, most interesting and funnest members of our group.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Your hospitality has set an extremely high bar, Troy, Linda, Layla and Raja. Southern hospitality ain’t got nothing on y’all. I also had a blast as well as a great meal. I really hope you can make it down south in May. Follow this link to get details.
Great post Troy! That’s cool y’all got to meet up like that and break bread together. Looks like you guys definitely had a good time. It’s pictures like that.. that show what this place is all about.
