I'm sure this goes w/o saying, but remember to get some good pics. Just might feature this in this month's upcoming HOT From The Pit!

Wild indeed! Tomorrow night CaptainMike is gonna teach us how to do The Foxtrot! Saturday night Uncle Bob is gonna show us pictures of all the quilting bees he’s attended.

And to make it a really wild night we're going to throw a scoop of real coffee into the decaf.

Well folks I made it! Nice and scenic drive once out of Houston. The short bit of Rockdale I drove through wasn’t much to look at, but the Rainbow place itself is nice! It’s every bit as nice as the pictures on the website. Also, we can run at least 2 grills for the steaks even if it’s raining. My patio in the back is covered and can fit 2 smokers on it. Good news! Loren is bringing his 26” kettle, so we can put his and my 22” on the patio in case of rain. It might be that some of you staying here…have a patio also.

EDIT: We have plenty of covered porch areas to run 4 grills! See post below.

Looks awesome, too bad they're predicting storms all day Friday and Saturday. Standing in line at Snow's may be challenging for the faint hearted. Oh well, beer inside is as good as beer outside ever was !!! See you tomorrow gang !!!

The real question: where do I put my 30 rack of Natty Ice on that porch that I don't have to bend over to reach...🤔🤔🤔

Ok guys. More good news in case of rain. wcpreston ‘s room is maybe 100 feet or so from mine and his building has a covered porch. We can easily fit 2 or 3 kettles or cookers on his porch. We won’t need to worry about pan frying or sous vide the steaks. All of us are very close to each other, within a 30 second walk.

This is wcpreston ‘s room, I’m directly across from him. Click image for larger version Name:	72EB1862-BED4-4016-A2BE-C2FE915EBB2B.jpeg Views:	0 Size:	3.38 MB ID:	1040368

Good luck wcpreston, you're dealing with PJ, it's part of the drill.

I'm not sure if I should be relieved or insulted that PJ didn't creep on my room!

Here’s a couple of 30 second videos I shot outside my room. It’s quit raining in the last hour or so. And it wasn’t raining very hard before that. I’m optimistic we’re gonna have no rain for tomorrows steak cook. 🙏

Really nice looking place, huge grounds by the looks of it.
Wonder what it'll look like after this weekend.....
Rained all day here today too so your not alone with the wet stuff.
      Let the good times roll!!!!

Beautiful grounds. Nice find for a place to hold the get-together. I guess all those years in the ‘Wedding Planning,’ business paid off.
Also provide us with the number for the most reliable bail bondsmen in Lockhart, you know, just in case. 🙂

Excited about coming Sat morning... where is everyone going to be at Rockdale? don' see any info on places to be or what times, I do know Snows sells out early. Any info for a late comer would be helpful. Thanks and can not wait!

I don't know about the other guys, but I will be in line at Snows in the wee hours of the morning. I'm hoping to catch a ride w/another idiot and let my wife sleep in a bit.

Lock Stock and Barrel I’m going to PM you my cell #. Depending on the weather might depend on where everyone goes. Tell us what you’d like to do. It’ll probably boil down to Snows, Brett’s Backyard or Louie Mouillers. I’d imagine we might have a group going to each one, or at least 2 of the 3.

Just so y’all know, and I hate to say this but CaptainMike was probably the most boring person I’ve ever met. We spent most of the evening in silence, waiting for the other person to talk. It was like watching "The Talk" in reverse.

The first date can be a rather clumsy affair.
By tonight you'll be dancing cheek to cheek.

Don't know what time you guys are up on Sat. Morning so I will hit Snow's Line at around 8 am. Been thru this area 50 times and it was always sold out so it is now a bucket list item for me. Hope to meet Tootsie there if she's cook'in. She's around 80 years old so you can bet she knows what she is doing with that Q!

Just so Loren doesn’t feel insulted I didn’t stalk his room also…..here’s a couple of shots. One of his room, NUMBER 43, and another of the view from his room to my truck. I also didn’t want wcpreston to get the big head, thinking he was the only one worth stalking.

Last minute acquisition, I'm bringin' a 10x10 EZ Up in case we need more cover. You can thank me later since that will likely ensure no rain at all.
