Every month I click on this post and every month I end up green with envy because living across the pond I am ineligible to enter never mind win and as they say you have to be in it to win it! Maybe I am just masochistic?
Doesn't stop me being pleased for the winners though, I am genuinely happy for them.

The story wasn’t crazy enough, so it gets even crazier… I was really looking forward to this prize. Never had a pellet smoker before, but for this season of life, it looks to be very useful. Plus, they are perfect for sides. I expect most of my cooks will still be over charcoal and/or wood, but I expect the pellet grill to be used a lot!
Anyways, my friend in NC lost his house recently. Burnt to the ground. There is a very strong indication his pellet grill was responsible for the fire. It was shut down but… Anyways, the investigation was detailed to the point the insurance company delayed cleanup for several weeks because of their thorough investigation. The grill company will be hearing from them.
We discussed pellet grills, and he is going to buy a new one, but probably not a Pi… never mind. He had mostly settled on a Weber Searwood.
Meanwhile, I was in the local Ace and looked at the 600 XL. What a beast. Bigger than I need, because of all the other cookers. But hey, it is what it is. I still was excited about the win and looking forward to cooking on it.
Then I got the idea… And my friend liked it. He’s buying me a Searwood 600 and I am giving him my 600 XL. We both get the best size for us, and he saves $300. Even though he has insurance, the extra costs are no joke, and $300 matters. I have multiple ways to get the 600 XL to him over the next few months. If it comes in the next 3 weeks, my friend’s landlord and I will both be at the same industry event (with our pickups) in Knoxville the 23rd.
I am so delighted how this turned out. Win/Win/Win
