iamfanch is my neighbor and he says he unable to answer e-mails for several weeks. He tells me to let you know he picks the KJ and that you can just ship it my place where he'll pick it up.
fuzzydaddy. Well, this is a conundrum. Perhaps both iamfanchs should be given prizes--one for March and one for April. I'll get my shipping address to you shortly--and, just to show good will, your iamfanch can have the March prize.
I don't know about that RonB. Even if you win all the money, you still have to eat. And, where can you learn to do better than from the fine folks on this site?
You can't just go to restaurants. I learned that lesson all over again last night. One of my clients, same one I did the pork butt for his company at Christmas, is at a convention in Chicago and yesterday he called to find out the best steak house in Chicago to take one of his clients for a steak dinner. Granted, I haven't lived in Chitown for 40 years, but I had to recommend one anyway. Quick google to come up with a list of classic Chicago steakhouses. Barney's (yes, sir, Senator) closed long ago. So, I suggested either Gene and Georgetti's (used to really like that place) or Gibson's. They wanted classic Chicago, so they picked Gene and Georgetti's. Asked him how was dinner, and he said "good not great". Tuesday night, middle of winter, I guess they had an off night. Checked reviews of a bunch of other downtown steakhouses, and all the top ones have somewhat inconsistent reviews.
BTW, I taught him how to reverse sear steaks for himself a few years ago. He's a little spoiled.
So, making it yourself, and serving friends and family will be a favorite pastime no matter how much money you win. Don't pick on the people here
Of course I know you're kidding. It just gave me an opening to point out how much better we can make things ourselves and give a well deserved pat on the back to everyone here.😇
I'm in RonB 's camp. If I won the prize here, I would trade it in for an island (I also have to run a 40 in 4.21 while wearing Adidas at the Combine). I would take only a soccer ball and flint. I've already learned everything I need to exist from you all and Survivor.
Eh... G&G... go to Cut, go to Primehouse, go to RPM. Go to Maple & Ash. These are modern Chicago, offering a better experience than "classic" Chicago places. Tourists go to the classics. Locals go to the moderns.
If I won a few hundred million dollars in a lottery... I wouldn't BBQ anything ever again! I would hire Ernest and/or Meathead to do all of my cooking.😜

I actually tried to not post the last of Jan, beginning of Feb. to increase my chances. It didn't do a thing for me, it just cost Pit Boss his job.
Hey I wonder now that Pit Boss is ABCBBQ if he will win one of these times. Anyways, congrats (maybe) iamfinch!

And with the right number thrown at me, I'd gladly cook for you Breadhead HAHAHA
Just think of the potential outdoor kitchen that a few 100 million dollars would allow us.🙀
I would think that that would be considered an entertainment area of about 1 acre. There would be every size Komodo Kamado cooker, a few stick burners, a few PBC's, a few of every size Kettle and SlowNSear could have their own service station on site, for a price.
We could invite all of the BBQ manufacturers and Meatheads crew to film on our site...😎 Then we would encourage the really, really good meat suppliers to promote their products through our website, with kickbacks to us.😁
I'll offer you $500,000 per year and 10% of the profits, assuming we both eat for free, fine wine included. Now we need to solicit wine vendors.
Eating and drinking extraordinary food and fine wine for free sounds like a good plan.😆
Then... we could start a diet program too.😁 We'll fatten them up and then sell the diet plan... brilliant.
Fatten their bellies to fatten our bottom line...👍
Hi everybody, I am new to everything Bar B Que and smoking so always Learnin' and will more than likely ask some beginner type questions. Patience please.
My first large grill is the Pit Boss wood pellet 700D (only because it was $249 on Black Friday).
As a new member to this site, I see a plethora of really great grills are being utilized where I was completely oblivious of their prior existence.
Thermometers = Thermopen's Mk4 and their 'Smoke'
Favorite Beer = pre-prohibition Classic American Pilsner
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
