Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Snagged the 50% off Prime ribeyes deal from Creekstone about 2 months ago, finally got around to cooking some tonight.
Here's four of their 12oz ribeyes, thawed & pre-trimmed with Oaklee, my female lab pup standing guard and waiting for trimmings (which she get plenty of)
Then trimmed w/ a half dry brine, then will use Henrik 's Signature rub, which I think is an excellent & unique steak rub.
Will update as I get more shots. Marbling looks good.
So does "half dry brine" mean you are only dry brining 1 side of the meat? If so, do you put Henrik's rub only on the other side? Please contribute to my education. Thanks!
'no, I just salted it about half as much as normal on both sides because Henrik's rub contains a little bit of salt itself, so that method with a light dose of his rub made it perfect. Most times I'd just use a salted rub as the dry brine but I wanted to add his rub after searing.

The steaks look great, such nice marbling. And nice to see such an ‘easy’ cook, just front seared steaks with some veggies. Good stuff. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it :-)
and even cooler is that there’s a dog in your house, way to go!
I'm not usually an indoor dog person, for fear my house might smell like dog. But we got her as a pup last winter I didn't have the heart to put her outside. Besides she's phenomenally calm and hasn't barked once yet inside since we got her. She's a great dog.
