Why oh why Snake River Farms?

Why does SRF or any company think their customers want to get emails twice a day, every day? I’ve unsubscribed numerous times yet their emails continue unabated. Personally, I think it’s disrespectful to their customers to bombard them twice a day with similar messages. The latest has been their Father’s Day sales. See the example below:

completely agree. they are out of control. as is porter road, especially with the new crowdfunding pitch. had wonderful experiences with both companies, but it feels like they are squandering goodwill.

Try blocking messages from that sender, that should work.

Unless I’m doing something wrong, which is darn sure possible, I still receive emails from blocked senders. It just tells me I’ve got an email from someone on my Blocked Senders List…🙄 I’m with Apple

I agree. I also am annoyed by the follow up email after visiting a web site. “Still interested?” Or “can we help in any way?” And they come within minutes of leaving the site. 🫤👎

And then there's the window that pops up shortly after reaching the site that says "Take a Survey about this site"

Have you tried calling them? And yeah, that is annoying!

Breaking news, most people don’t read em. But “they” should pay attention to proper etiquette & not bombard folks with ads.

Correct. This is why my AOL account has 9.9k emails waiting to be read.

I love Milk Street magazine, but I chose to not renew my subscription. They are endless in their pursuit to get me back; nearly daily emails with more and more 'special offers' if I stay, weekly physical mailings saying the same. It is ridiculous. Aren't you glad we don't do that?

Yes!! But I’ll welcome 1,000 emails from you on the monthly giveaway telling me I won!

Absolutely.....I looked at my email and the top two companies that email me at least twice daily are JC Penney and KUIU (the hunting clothing company). I'd block them, but I get deals from JC Penney (hey, I rock that St. Johns Bay!) and KUIU often has useful articles on winter clothing.

But it is a bit much.

They apparently utilize the 'throw enough stuff at the wall something will stick' philosophy. I don't care for that either. I am aware the company I just bought something from exists or I wouldn't have made the purchase I made. Begging doesn't make me need something else all of a sudden.

I never sign up for anything and always make sure to unblock the “receive promotions” tab when ordering stuff.

When I do get an email from SRF or whoever, I block them totally. If I make an order, I’ll just got to my junk mail and fish out the confirmation email for my order.

The internet has gone from a useful tool to a major PITA.

Whenever ordering online I just create an email address for that order, say [email protected], or [email protected], complete the transaction, and once done with it I inactivate the account so the mail server refuses to accept email sent to that address.
If I want to order again I just reactivate the address for that transaction. No unwanted marketing emails especially from companies that now continually ignore your marketing preferences or requests to unsubscribe.
Of course it helps that I’ve run my own email server since the 80’s.

Running your mail server makes this possible. The rest of us, not so much.

I've learned that hitting the unsubscribe button doesn't always result in cutting off contacts from some vendors because they have multiple channels they use to contact those on their list(s). So, while you successfully unsubscribed from one channel you're still in their system for others.......GRRRRR!

As a former marketing guy I get why they "pile on"..............it's called targeted marketing. Before internet tracking the marketing world had to rely on marketing that went to number of eyeballs; e.g. billboards and traffic count, even if there was no way to know if there was potential interest. Now with tracking the belief is those who've shown interest at least once have a higher probability of interest again. At least in theory it's more effective use of marketing dollars. But yes, they haven't figured out the annoyance factor it seems.

I seem to get something from a high end knife company and PBC on a reg basis. I just delete n move on. I kinda like the eye candy and the recipes so I do not care.
