Interesting read.... I bought a wagyu ribeye and some shrimp at the store locally when I was in Fort Lauderdale last Oct, I was super impressed with the selection of cuts and spent a loooooong time in the store drooling and wishing I had one near me - and also grateful they didn't! I'd probably stay in some serious hot water with The Wife!

Anyways, I have family coming the next couple of weeks and have picked up some things to smoke, but I have a bonus coming in from work tomorrow, I might actually splurge on a couple of cuts to do a nice dinner at some point. I dunno.

Thanks to all for the research you've done and for posting your experiences.

I have only ordered once, but was very pleased. I bought a prime picanha and some prime dino ribs, and both turned out very well. I also bought some pork ribs, regular and Berkshire, and will cook them this weekend. The delivery was fine, with everything frozen solid and all the weights checked out.

I just now received my latest order from WF. Just 22 hours and 45 min exactly from order to my front door. And frozen like rocks. Amazing. I order about every six weeks or so. Always one day delivery.

On another note, I got two racks of STL spare ribs. Giant at 4.5# and 5.0#!! They’re usually around 3.5-3.75# each. They look good and I hope they cook up as goos as they look. 🤞 But in about two years of orders, I’ve never been disappointed.

I read that ribs run smaller in spring and summer, bigger in fall and winter.

I have only purchased from their Skokie store.l. Been pleased thus far. I did some Berkshire spare ribs and commodity ribs. Bother were excellent.

I most recently picked up 2 cowboy steaks for $130……which was like $50 cheaper than Creekstone. Saving those for a rainy day.

Interesting. I hadn't realized that there were multiple locations in the Chicago area until you mentioned Skokie. The Mt. Prospect store is only about a half hour from me. Good to know.

Murdy Well I’m learning something today. It’s been a year since I ordered from them, but I only knew about the downtown store.

They’re expanding. I was in Lincoln Park a few weeks ago and noticed more going up.

Google Maps show 6 of them, predominantly on the north side

I had a pack of hanger steaks and a side of salmon show up with damaged packaging and freezerburn. One new york strip roast was a whole pound under the minimum of the advertised approximate weight range. They refunded the damaged items, but didn't acknowledge a problem with the weight of the roast. It was priced per item not per pound so it mattered a little bit in my opinion. The quality of everything that arrived intact was good. It's either Walmart and Super One or online retailers here so I'm happy enough with them to keep using them.

Just opened near me in NJ. Considering how hard it is to even find a packer in this area, this place was awesome. Grabbed some prime ribeye filets (wife wanted filet, so it’s a compromise) flanken cut ribs and outside skirt. I wanted to get a prime
packer or picanha but I have some stuff in the freezer to clear out first.

I had a very positive experience with Wild Fork today. Several days ago I ordered a boneless Berkshire ham for New years dinner. Today I looked at it in the fridge to check if it was defrosted enough to cook tomorrow. I noticed it was incorrectly marked and was in fact a bone IN ham. There is a cost difference so I sent an email to their customer service asking for an adjustment. Within one hour I received a response stating that I would receive a full refund on the entire price of the order. I was expecting a credit of $8-10. Instead I got a free $45 ham. Nice.

I’ve ordered once from WF and two of three packages were compromised, exposing the meat to the interior of the carton. Everything was still completely frozen so no damage to the veal shanks. I think the packaging could have been better so stuff wouldn’t bounce around in the carton.

I just ordered for the first time today. I could have it all tomorrow morning, but we are not going to be home. I opted for Monday. Grabbed a hangar steak, coppa steaks and a small lamb leg. I’ll report back on weights, packaging, etc.

I think you will like Wold Fork. The only sub par item I bought was the Moroccan seasoned leg of lamb - it was too gamey for me. I bought an unseasoned leg of lamb at the same time that turned out fantastic - I guess sometimes it is the meat is the problem. The Berkshire coppa steaks are awesome as are the Berkshire ribeye chops.
