Porter Road Raising Prices Next Week

This is actually the opposite of a discount or deal, but I didn't know where else to put it.

I just received an email from Porter Road. Here is the key paragraph:

Starting next week, our prices will be going up. While we were able to fend off inflation and global supply chain issues long enough to keep pricing consistent throughout the holiday season, it's no longer possible. Everything from yearlings and harvesting to cardboard, insulation, and shipping have seen significant increases. We are always negotiating with our partners and we hope that some of these changes are temporary.

If you want their Dino Ribs or anything else, it seems like now is the time to buy.

Everyone is upping prices for the usual reasons, no work force, no truck drivers, supply chain problems, courier problems, weather problems.
I get these are trying times but I'm thinking most of this is a cash grab by profit hungry big business.

As a guy who's on the receiving end of truck driver, weather, and raw material price increases, I think this is probably legit. Some of our raw materials are at an 8x increase from a year ago, and we literally cannot find trucks to deliver it. It sucks, for sure. But I don't think I'd lay this at the feet of greedy business owners.

Not all big business are cash grabbing but then there's some that are certainly doing us no favors.

Inflation was 13.5% when I got my first mortgage at 9.5%

I have seen local beef go up 33% in the past year.

Luckily, I only have to drive 35 minutes into Nashville to visit the store and pick up what I want. Unfortunately, I have to drive into Nashville. With the traffic between Clarksville and Nashville on I-24 these days, I usually talk myself out of that drive. But it is nice knowing that they that close if I need to make the trip.
