Cheshire Pork is having a sale!

    Check this out!

I've had their ribs and think they are great thanks to Mosca!

    Cheshire Pork

Hmmm I'll have to pop into the Heritage Farms shop and see if they are doing that in store. I rarely go in their new store as it's so expensive, but it's less than 6 miles from my house

Dang, freezer is full. I had to work to shoe horn a venison backstrap into it this evening (friend gave it to me).

      I seen ‘at!

I just checked, I still have a few racks left from the last sale. I’m looking at that breakfast sampler, but I’m also experimenting with making my own sausage. And I have two Berkshire pork butts in the freezer. It’s a great sale coming at the wrong time for me.

This is my favorite pork, the Cheshire. It’s like all dark meat.

I am sorely tempted with that $99 special for 3 racks SLS and 3 racks Baby back…

I’ll point out that for $25 ($125 for Sampler #2) you can pick up two racks of full spares on top of those. Those average 5 lbs each. It’s my favorite cut from Cheshire, because I love the tips.

Thanks for the heads up Mosca. Sadly I just checked and I have ZERO freezer space for 6 or 8 racks of ribs. Chest freezer is packed to the top, as is the top freezer in the garage fridge, and too much in the side by side in the house as well.

No ribs, but plenty of other stuff I need to consume apparently. Sad I will have to miss out on this special...

I'd love to give them a try - but shipping on pack 1 or pack 2 is about 50% of the cost of the package. I just can't swing it. Dang.

Pork is the new chicken for me. Ain't nothin' online gonna out do what I can get locally enough to justify spending 2 or 3 times more.

Yeah - much as I'd like to try some of these different breeds, retailers and products, the cost of just living and feeding the family has gotten so out of hand that I can't justify it. <sigh>

Inflation ain't just a statistic anymore.

Whoa! Glad to hear that update (not for you, but for me!). Makes me feel better about not having freezer space...

Ok, so went in the store today.

      1. The store IS closing, it was almost empty. Bare shelves and racks everywhere. However, they are dropping the store name (they just moved to this location about a year ago) and it's going to be solely Cheshire Pork products. Meat, rubs, and swag.

      2. While they did not honor the website promotion, the ribs I bought were actually very reasonable. No price per lb or price at all advertised. But 17 bones for 2 racks of baby backs is fine in my book. I shoulda got a few more, but like I said, no price advertised so I went light just in case.

The store is roughly the size of a dollar general but all open floor space.

Thanks for posting, HawkerXP. Went in for the $99 rib sampler, good opportunity to try some heritage ribs for the first time at reduced pricing. Now, like others here, gotta dredge up some freezer space somehow.

All mine have been UPS Ground, and I’ve never had a complaint.

I really think that the price of pork is going to go down for a while. Good time to buy.

Rib Sampler #1 is on the way. This is my first premium pork purchase, and I’m pretty excited about it!

It was mine as well. You won't be disappointed.

I did a blind taste test against Costco wibs. Same rub in my PBC. These were always voted best!

They arrived frozen solid just as you guys predicted. Heck, even the ice packs are still frozen solid. Pile of ribs:

The empty package. Cardboard around foam around ice packs surrounding the ribs.

The LW says we’re having ribs for Mother’s Day dinner 👍.

Two out of six in my shipment had thawed, but IR thermometer readings indicated they were still at a safe refrigerator temperature of 34-35F, so I think all is good. Hope so anyway. Put ‘em all in the freezer as soon as they arrived.
