I did just score this Prime full packer brisket , so I’ve got that goin’ for me.
This had to be a mistake. My local Costco NEVER carries full packer, let alone Prime. I’ve literally driven to PA just to get a brisket this year. AND, I’ve spoken to the meat manager at every Costco from here to PA and they all say the same thing- they have no idea if full packers will come in and they haven’t seen Prime in over a year.

If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Sadly I let my Costco lapse at the end of last year, as at the time I hadn't seen brisket for as low as $3.99 in a long time. And I got tired of the crazy crowd up there just to refill propane tanks, and am going to the Ace Hardware a 1/4 mile from my house.
That said, I've been happy enough with $1.99 Kroger USDA choice briskets that I don't think I would pay double the price to get prime. That's sale pricing of course, but that is what the deep freeze is for...
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

RlsRls we’ll do a Turkey too. But my family aren’t huge turkey fans. They’ll eat it at thanksgiving but never at other times. They’re all much happier since I started adding brisket to the menu a couple years ago.
I am thinking you have a whole lot more meat packing going on up by you than here.
Kroger never has Prime but they will put out a whole packer for $5.99. I check nearly everyday. It is not out of my way. It might sit for a week or more then I see the same meat cut into a point n two flats for 6-7.99 a pound. Then it sells pretty fast. Also the point is fairly trim by then.

Well my Thanksgiving just got better.
Nice. I haven't seen prime packer brisket at my local costco since the covid lockdowns in 2020. Choice is all they carry (unless I'm arriving too late for the higher end stuff.
A properly trimmed and properly cooked Choice is 95% -or more- as good as a Prime. Maybe even as good. Buy a floppy one, and I recommend wet aging them 1 to 2 months in a cold (34-38*) fridge for even more tenderness, but not mandatory.
Huskee - yep - I have only cooked prime a few times. I was not happy with the final texture. The bark falls apart when slicing. Now I do choice with the biggest point I can find and wet-age until it’s ‘floppy’. 👍
