Grill Billies BBQ Supply -- Raleigh, NC

mcg0958 Based on Michael's review, I took a trip to Grill Billies BBQ Supply Company in Raleigh, NC. It didn't take but 5 min from my in laws, so naturally I had to go!

It was great! A ton of rubs and sauces including favorites Oakridge Black Ops and Blues Hog.

I should have have taken pics of the smokers they have including Myron Mixon smokers, primos, drum smokers, and more!

They had a ton of people there. Seems like a class was finishing up. I think they have BBQ classes a lot of weekends.

Next time youre in Raleigh, pay them a visit!

That second picture is where they have samples for anyone. Probably 50 opened bottles of rubs and sauce you can try! Can't beat that!

Neat. It will likely be several years before I get there, but it's always cool to find a nice place with the right stuff!

Talk about bein' like a kid in a candy store!!!!
Not only could I put a hurtin', certain, on a wad of Benjamins in there,
But would likely have to be dragged out!
(Or at least lured outside by live hickory smoke!)

Sweet. I wish there was a candy store like that in my neck of the woods. At least I'd have a place to go when wifee tells me to go away.

Great find, Scott. Tell'em they really should consider opening a Denver area branch ...

I'd like to get there too! Since I can't I think I found the next best thing.

Grillbillies is a barbecue store with hundreds of products for backyarders, caterers, and competitors. Come in and talk to our barbecue experts.

Well, they closed down the Raleigh locations and now their only store is in Wendell, which is just outside of Raleigh. Probably 25 minutes from downtown.

Same great BBQ supply store, same great service. They had PK Grills, Le Griddle, Meadow Creek, Myron Mixon smokers, Broil King, Napoleon, pizza ovens, and more! They also have a ton of rubs which you can sample. It’s nice to sample/taste a rub before you buy it.

I am huge fan of Grillbillies BBQ. I have attended many of the classes over the last few years and bought my Meadow Creek from them. I was in there last Monday, the second picture you posted, of the Meadow Creek PR, is pretty close to my dream rig.

scottranda if you haven't attended their classes I recommend them. They have an excellent group of pitmasters that teach the classes.

Part of me wishes they were closer (it's about a 4 hour drive) but the wallet is glad they aren't.

Yeah, I’m only around when I visit the outlaws which is a few times a year. But I do follow them and see they have some awesome events and classes.

I wasn’t around when this was first posted, and I’m really glad you bumped it. I’ll definitely be visiting them sometime this winter.
