Great meat counter, lots of help and good prices. Lots of choice and some select. Off the beaten path kinda joint that moves some meat.

WARNING: Cash and carry. No credit card accepted

Ahh yes Pinconning... is the large mouse w/ cheese statue still there? Is it still a ghost town with 4 stores out of twenty actually open? Last time I went through there it was disheartening to see one of my favorite pass-through town seemingly in ruins.... love their cheese though! Good to know there's a good meat counter there. What's that about 10-15 min from your cabin?

Yep 10-15. Its a ghost town once you get off M-13. The two cheese factories are still running strong. Wilsons still has the big mouse out front.

Truly a unique flavor and an open texture. Its a great eating cheese for sure. Not to mention makes a fantastic mac and cheese.

If anyone is passing thru I suggest stopping at one and grabbing a hunk of that yellow aged colby style goodness known as Pinconning cheese.

      Edit:

Had to run to Bay City this morning. Just had to stop and take this. (the pic not the mouse)
