    New Scheel's store-BBQ Department

This morning I went to the beautiful new Scheel's store here and was pleasantly surprised at their BBQ equipment and accessories! I expected the usual retail brands of cookers, such as Traeger, Weber, Camp Chef, etc. They had some Traegers and a variety of other brands but the big deal was they had several big Yoders and Rec-Tec cookers. I didn't know those brands sold thru retail but was interesting to see and touch them. Surprisingly, they didn't have any Weber products. I wasn't looking for them but it dawned on me on the way home.

They had a big wall of every brand and kind of rub and sauce you could imagine. Some of them we've had to order online from the manufacturer, but not any longer.

The accessories they carry were equally impressive. Lots of Thermoworks products for example. Saw Bear Mountain pellets for $8.99 which is a good price.

Besides the impressive BBQ stuff, the store is beautiful and staffed with friendly, helpful employees which is a nice change from the other "sports outfitter" chains in town.

Wow, Clark I saw Scheel's was coming to the area, but had no idea they had such an extensive BBQ section. I can see I'm going to have to make a trip... actually.... I do have to go to Tahlequah next Thurs or Fri (2½ hours each way just to get my damned fingerprints taken! Ugh!), so maybe I'll stop in there on the way back... hmmmm...

Wow I just looked it up - I didn't realize it was actually IN Woodland Hills mall. Hell, I didn't think anyone was opening new stores in malls these days. lol

Also supposed to be a Restaurant Depot coming to Tulsa - I think it was Nov. Gotta check on that development - down next to Sam's on S. Sheridan by 46th or somewheres.

@DogFacedPonySoldier They leveled the west end of the mall where Sears or Penneys was. Built a beautiful building with 360,000 sq ft. (I think) with an indoor Ferris Wheel and a bunch of other neat things, plus dining of some sort. I spent an hour and a half there and didn't see it all, but I was mainly in the gun dep't, BBQ, and men's clothing dept.

Can't you get prints done in Bartlesville or Tulsa area?

Wow, that sounds like a store we need to get up in these parts. Never seen a Scheel's up this way. We have an ACE Hardware with the obligatory thin, cheap bottom of the line models of Traeger and Camp Chef, and a Z-Grills model. Staff is helpful as far as where stuff is, but nothing beyond that.

Although I suspect for most of us here, talking with hired staff in a BBQ store or BBQ section would be like this:
