    Newbie in Colorado

I've wanted to start smoking/barbecueing/etc for a while now so after much research on this site, I ordered a PBC, thermometers, and a charcoal chimney for Father's Day (linked from this site, of course!), and subscribed to The Pit. Goods will arrive this coming week, but I won't have time to crack it open for another week due to work, etc. I live along the front range of the Rockies, so while I'm only at 5,900', I'll be very interested to learn from others about various adjustments for the altitude. It's also generally pretty low humidity here - 40-50% is a bad day for us! I'd like to learn most everything, but specifically ribs, pulled pork, brisket, tri-tip, chicken, wings, and turkey, and would like to do a turkey for Thanksgiving this year. I've already learned a ton from this website, so I consider joining The Pit to be a simple matter of paying for the great information I've already learned! I'm mostly a "lurker", but an avid reader for sure. Thanks for this great resource, I look forward to learning from it!

Welcome, I think you will love it! The turkeys I did for thanksgiving are still the best thing I have cooked, I think I did a post about it on here if you run across it.
