Getting Warmed Up in the Bay Area
Greetings! A few months ago I pickup a WSM 18.5" which sparked a renewed interest in grilling. More than 10 years ago I bought a Captain Cook gas grill from Barbeques Galore. I didn't do any research & went with their recommendation. In the years since I have come to realize that my Capt. Cook runs way to hot along the rear rendering half of the grill practically unusable. Fortunately it is not firing up consistently & I'm not going to put any money towards rehab. Tomorrow I'm picking up a new Weber EP-310 gas grill from Ace Hardware. My success with the WSM has given me the confidence to buy a charcoal grill too so I've got my eyes on Weber's Master Touch. I'm excited by all the possibilities & I look forward to picking up tips & ideas on this great site.Tags: None

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
