Hello to the "bbq science group"

Hey you all! My name is Dustin and I currently live in Albuquerque, NM. I currently have a Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 that I smoke, grill, and sear on. I prefer to smoke meats, I just love to go low and slow. It is always rewarding and worth the wait! I also have a Weber Genesis, which I love, but I wasn't getting the awesome flavor of charcoal and smoke.

I love this site. I love how everyone goes deep into the science behind grilling. I am a nerd and I like to know why behind everything. I especially love all those mythbusters, I have always thought some of them have been nonsense. Instead of doing the trial, I wanted to jump in and pay for the membership because the resourse has been deffinately worth it!

I look forward to learning tons!

Welcome from Nevada. You came to the right place, as it's often PhD level stuff when folks really get to explaining.

Welcome to the Pitmaster Club! That 560 sure is smooth, isn’t it?

Since you’re new, and if you haven't already done so, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:

Give us an email address you actually use. You can check the email we have on file for you by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Account tab. It’s tied to your Pitmaster Club account as well as our payment processor, Stripe. Don’t worry though, you can change it by simply visiting https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/pi...il-request.php

Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important so you can receive special deals we occasionally work out for our members, receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Great Giveaway Monthly Sweepstakes winner, which is open to all paying USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

          Thanks for joining!

Welcome to The Pit Dustin. I had an algebra teacher many years ago that constantly said that "Algebra is so much easier if you understand it.". Same goes for cookin'.

                        • I cook on a 15-year-old Kamado #9, a huge beast nearly 6 feet tall and with black ceramic tile on the outside. I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds. Just added an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
